- GUNNERS ALWAYS START THE SEASON ON TOP GEAR.
- ARTETA CAUTIOUS OVER EARLY CELEBRATION.
- PUNDITS SAY ARSENAL’S RYTHM IS REAL THIS TIME.
- ARSENAL HAVE LOST TO MAN UNITED ALONE SO FAR THIS SEASON.
The gunners have done it again. They have maintained an impressive form winning 9 games out of the first ten this season in the premier league. The latest win was a slim 0-1 win against a stubborn Leeds side that had the home advantage. This outcome was boosted by the fact that Liverpool edged out Manchester City 1-0 to help Arsenal widen the gap at the peak of the table. Arsenal currently have a 4 points lead ahead of Man City.
Arsenal have suffered a single defeated so far this season as they couldn’t get past Man United.
YOUNGEST STARTIN ELEVEN FOR GUNNERS THIS SEASON
Arsenal were the youngest team in the Premier League last season. They started this season in a similar vein, naming a starting XI with an average age of 24 years and 219 days. Jesus and Zinchenko, both 25 years old, were comparative veterans. Their influence was clear from the start. Arteta bypassed the experienced Granit Xhaka and gifted Martin Odegaard with the captain’s armband in a move that caught many pundits and fans alike by surprise. He has also assembled a terrific backline that has only conceded 10 goals so far this season.
The big question is , will the gunners maintain their form or will they stumble along the way like they usually do in the previous seasons? Most pundits are giving the gunners a positive node and believe that the momentum is genuine. It would therefore be correct to say that the gunners are running away with the title. Mikel Arterta has been avoiding early celebration of his current status and knows that he has tough games ahead as his side hasn’t yet played Man City plus the fact that this is the first half of the season.
Arteta knows that Chelsea are making a noticeable comeback and that both Tottenham Hotspurs and Manchester United are a constant threat to his ambitions. Arteta will be hoping that he doesn’t have to deal with injuries so as to maintain a regular starting eleven. Apart from his regular starting eleven, Arteta has a rich bench to pick from if need be.

ARSENAL RELEASED PROVEN STRIKERS LAST SEASON
Many Arsenal fans had castigated the top brass for letting go of their iconic hitman Pierre Aubameyang and but it seems like the newly acquired Gabriel Jesus is equal to the task. Jesus literally turned into a fan favorite instantly as he continues to impress for the gunners. Jesus was sold to the gunners so as to make way for Erling Haaland , who has been terrific for Man City and is in fact the current top scorer in the premier league. Arsenal also released the lethal Alexandre Lacazette who moved back to his former team Lyon in league one, France.
Aubameyang was finally acquired by a staunch rival in the name of Chelsea and he has proved to be an important signing for the blues as well as he gets on the mark in the few games that he has featured for his new side after a brief stint in La Liga with Barcelona.
In Arsenal’s final 10 games last season , the Gunners lost five of those games and did not keep a clean sheet in any of them but again, only three members of the current team were in that disappointing team last season. Arsenal fans will be hoping that this curse doesn’t come to haunt them again this season. Last season’s last run was soo pathetic and painful to stomach for the gunners as it saw them literally loose a spot in the champions league at a time when it was clear that they already had it in their hands.

MOMENTUM IN FIRST HALF OF SEASON
This season in the Premier League, Arsenal’s form is Excellent overall with 9 wins, 0 draws, and 1 loss. This performance currently places Arsenal at 1st out of 20 teams in the table, winning 90% of matches. Arsenal’s home form is excellent with the following results : 5 wins, 0 draws, and 0 losses. Their away form is considered excellent, as a result of 4 wins, 0 draws, and 1 loss against Manchester United. Arsenal has scored a total of 24 goals so far this season in the Premier League.
Arsenal need to snatch out points in difficult away games if they are to finish at the top this season. As it stands, Arsenal are indeed running away with the title but only if they can maintain the gap between them and an equally ambitious Manchester City side. It will also be unwise to rule out Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspurs as well as Manchester United, all having spent outrageous amounts of money to strengthen their sides.
